Bravestars makes relaxation the design goal rather than a side effect. Nothing here is timed, nothing is lost by leaving, and the game has no interest in escalating.

What it does have is a steady sense of a place being tended. Plants come in, animals settle, and the garden looks progressively more looked-after — which is the reward the game is offering, in place of a score.

It sits at the opposite end of this catalogue from the tycoon titles. If those feel like work, this is the one to open instead.

1. Plant whatever appeals rather than what pays best.
2. Add animals as the garden establishes.
3. Return whenever you like — nothing decays.
4. Keep tending until the place looks how you want it.

Resist optimising. This game gives you nothing for efficiency, and playing it like a tycoon title is the one way to have a bad time with it.
